1. Eligibility
To use our currency exchange service, you must be at least 18 years of age or have parental consent. The coins and/or banknotes you wish to exchange must be legally owned by you, or you must have received explicit permission from the rightful owner to exchange them.
2. Authenticity
Our exchange service does not accept counterfeit banknotes or coins, or any banknotes or coins with reasonable doubt regarding their authenticity. We also do not accept sample banknotes, devalued banknotes (e.g., those with holes, damage, tears, security dye or stamps), or damaged or dirty coins. All banknotes submitted for exchange must have the necessary security features (e.g., watermarks, security threads, optically variable ink, raised printing, etc.) and at least one fully visible and readable serial number. Banknotes with more than 25% of their surface area missing, or banknotes lacking the phrase “I promise to pay the bearer” may also be rejected. We also do not accept banknotes that are damaged in a manner that suggests intentional destruction. Laminated banknotes are not accepted. In case of reasonable doubt regarding the authenticity of any submitted banknotes or coins, we will reject the exchange and return them to you at your cost, subject to the applicable postal charges (standard first-class registered mail).
3. Legality
We do not accept coins or banknotes that were obtained through illegal or fraudulent means. If there is any suspicion regarding the origin of the banknotes or coins, we may request additional information to determine whether to accept the exchange. If the origin remains suspicious, the exchange will be rejected, and the items will be returned to you at your cost, subject to the applicable postal charges (standard first-class registered mail).
4. Anti-Money Laundering Regulations: Due Diligence
To comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations, we implement risk-based due diligence measures. The following high-value transactions will require enhanced due diligence:
- Transactions equivalent to or above 20,000 AUD: You may be required to submit a valid photo ID (passport, driver’s license, national ID card, etc.) and proof of residence or date of birth. All collected information will be securely stored in our offline archives for a period of 5 years to comply with MLR.
5. Eligible Banknotes and Coins
Banknotes and coins submitted for exchange must:
- Meet the authenticity requirements outlined above.
- Be of a currency type listed on our website and not explicitly excluded from acceptance. Other banknotes or coins will not be accepted unless prior agreement has been made. For any items not accepted, no payment will be made unless prior consent was given. Rejected banknotes or coins will be returned at your cost, subject to the applicable postal charges (standard first-class mail).
6. Exchange Value
The exchange value of submitted coins and/or banknotes is calculated by multiplying the amount of each currency by the applicable exchange rate for that currency unit. Our exchange rates are available on our exchange rate page.
7. Shipping
The shipping of coins and banknotes for exchange is the responsibility of the customer. We are not responsible for any losses incurred during postal transit, and we recommend using a trackable delivery service. For shipping advice and guidelines on how to package your banknotes and coins safely, please refer to our “Shipping Coins and Banknotes” page. Customers may choose either regular or registered mail for shipping.
8. Incomplete, Insufficient, or Incorrect Exchange Forms
Incomplete, insufficient, or incorrectly filled exchange forms may cause delays in processing. If any information is missing, illegible, or incorrect, we will contact you via email (provided a valid and functional email address is available). If the signature is missing, we may request a re-submission of the signed exchange form. The exchange of coins and banknotes and payment will only take place upon receipt of the signed exchange form. We are not responsible for any consequences resulting from mistakes made in the exchange form.
9. Payment
All customers will receive payment based on the exchange value of the submitted banknotes and coins. Payment will be initiated once currency sorting and calculation are completed and, if necessary, the appropriate due diligence measures have been finalized. Typically, processing will be completed within 5 business days, but if there are delays for any reason (e.g., missing information), we will inform you of the reason and provide an estimated payment date.
Customers may choose from the following payment methods:
- Bank Transfer: Available to customers worldwide (except in countries where international transfers are prohibited, e.g., North Korea).
- PayPal: Available to customers worldwide. Customers without a PayPal account can create one for free at PayPal.com. No minimum payment amount is required. Payments will be processed as “Payment for Goods and Services,” and PayPal will charge a fee on the received amount. Please refer to PayPal’s website for details on PayPal fees.
10. Incorrect Payment Information
To process payments, accurate payment information (bank account, mailing address, or PayPal email address) is required. If the payment information provided on the exchange form is incorrect or incomplete, it may result in payment delays, incorrect payments, or fees imposed by the receiving bank. We are not responsible for these issues, and any costs incurred due to incorrect payment information will be charged to the customer.
