How can I exchange my old foreign banknotes?
You can exchange your old foreign banknotes for cash in 3 simple steps:
Step 1: Find out which currencies you can exchange. We accept all currencies, including both current and obsolete ones. You can view the list of exchangeable currencies and their rates here.
Step 2: Kindly click here to register the currency you wish to sell, and complete the application form, which you can download from the confirmation email that we will send you.
If you do not have access to a printer, please ensure that you fill out the required details on a separate sheet of paper and include it with your package.
Step 3: Please send us your currency, and we will process your payment via bank transfer or PayPal within 5 business days.
When sending your currency, we recommend adding tracking or insurance for added security. Additionally, to ensure smooth processing, please label the package contents as “documents” when shipping.
How long will it take for my payment to be processed?
Not long at all! We aim to process your payment within 5 business days or less, starting from the day we receive your currency.
It typically takes us 1-3 days to process your currency. This involves receiving and opening your package, counting and verifying the banknotes, checking security features, sorting, sending a confirmation email, storing the items, and entering data. We process items in batches, with a new batch starting every second business day.
Once processing is complete, we’ll proceed with your payment. The time it takes for your payment to reach you depends on the payment method you’ve selected:
- PayPal payments are processed instantly.
- Australian bank transfers take 1 business day.
- International bank transfers may take 1-4 business days.
The majority of our customers receive their payment within 5 business days. If there is any delay for any reason, we will notify you.
How much will I get for my old currency?
You can view our industry-leading exchange rates [here]. These rates are used to calculate your payout amount.
Are there any fees?
We do not charge any fees or commissions. You will receive your payout based on the exchange rates displayed [here].
Our operational costs and margins are covered by the difference (spread) between the mid-market exchange rate and our buy exchange rate, which is a standard practice used by all currency exchange services.
For currencies that are more challenging to exchange, such as old banknotes, the spread between the mid-market rate and our buy rate is generally higher than for currencies that are easier to exchange. However, we offer the best buy exchange rates for foreign obsolete banknotes available online. We monitor this daily, and if you find a better rate elsewhere for foreign obsolete notes, please let us know.
While we don’t charge any fees, some of the third-party payment providers we work with may apply fees:
PayPal: Charges a fee of 3.40% of the total amount received. If you’re outside the Australia, international PayPal fees will apply.
International bank transfers: We don’t charge any fees, but your bank may impose a fee to receive an international payment. This is common with many Canadian banks, so it’s a good idea to check with your bank if you’re unsure.
